  • IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equality, Accessibility) Working Group

  • The purpose of this group is to work with 4-H Ontario to provide direction and recommendation in building an organizational culture of inclusion, diversity, equality and accessibility with seamless respect and optimism. Each sub-committee will provide suggestions and assist in acting upon and fulfilling the recommendation if necessary.

  • 4-H Ontario welcomes and encourages individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to apply as we strive to reflect and serve the diversity of our communities.

  • Best Practices Sub-Committee
    Focus on advancing IDEA development, this sub-committee identifies and gathers best practices from inside and outside the organization to ensure that the organization's goals and needs are met through an IDEA lens. 


    Trade Shows/Promotion Sub-Committee 
    This sub-committee's overall goal is to ensure 4-H's promotion and outreach strategies reflects 4-H's commitment to IDEA. Committee members will explore ways to build relationships with underrepresented communities (i.e., visible minorities, urban areas), while leveraging trade shows and other promotional tools to implement the strategy. Committee members may have the opportunity to attend trade shows and events as representatives of 4-H Ontario.

    Youth Voice Sub-Committee 
    A sub-committee for youth only (must be a current 4-H participant to be on this committee) 
    A sub-committee for youth only (must be a current 4-H participant) to provide feedback about their 4-H experience. The group will develop tools to gather insights from fellow participants and provide meaningful recommendations to help enhance the 4-H program.

    Programming Sub-Committee 
    This sub-committee will provide feedback on current programming including the program activities and IDEA training for facilitator and volunteers. Committee members may have the opportunity to attend provincial-level opportunities.
